Team Georgia Careers is Hiring a Senior Accountant Near Savannah, GA

Savannah Technical College is seeking a Director of Administrative Services. Duties include:

  • Trains, assigns, and directs the work of assigned personnel; provides guidance to less experienced accountants
  • Supervisors Bookstore Operations Manager to ensure financial success of Campus Shops
  • Analyzes and resolves difficult accounting problems
  • Facilitates general accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, account reconciliation, purchasing, asset management, and cash management
  • Submits financial reports as requested in a timely manner
  • Supervises balancing of financial records at month-end
  • Assists with year-end closing procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field "and" Five (5) years of professional accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in governmental accounting and GAAP
  • Master's degree in accounting or closely related field
  • Proficiency in the following computer programs/applications: PeopleSoft Financials, BANNER Student Database - specifically BANNER Accounts Receivable, Nebraska Bookstore System, Workday, and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working within the Technical College System of Georgia strongly preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience

Physical Demands

Work is typically performed in an office environment with intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. The employee frequently bends, lifts and carries lightweight objects up to 25 pounds. Full range of hand and finger motion is required for data entry purposes.

Salary/Benefits

Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. Benefits include paid state holidays, annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits package.
